The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has published the draft voter list for the upcoming civic elections, revealing a significant rise in the number of registered voters across the city. According to civic officials, the total number of voters has increased by more than 26% compared to the last municipal elections held in 2017. At that time, Nashik had around 10.73 lakh registered voters, whereas the newly released draft list shows the figure crossing 13.5 lakh.
The draft rolls have been made available both online and at the six divisional offices of the NMC. Citizens have been encouraged to check their details carefully to ensure accuracy. Those who find discrepancies, missing information, or wish to raise objections can submit their applications by November 27. After examining all claims and objections, the NMC is scheduled to release the final voter list on December 5.
Officials noted that the sharp rise in voter numbers can be attributed to increased awareness, digital registration drives, and focused outreach by election authorities. A notable trend this year is the substantial growth in female voter registration, which has reportedly increased at a faster pace than male registrations. Civic authorities say this reflects improved participation and a broader push towards inclusive electoral engagement.
With the Nashik Municipal Corporation elections expected in January 2026, the updated voter rolls mark an important step in the city’s poll preparations. Ensuring that every eligible citizen’s name is correctly listed is considered crucial for smooth election management. The NMC has urged residents to verify their details promptly to avoid last-minute issues during the voting process.
