NDA and Grand Alliance Battle for First Phase Lead

Bihar Elections 2025 first phase NDA vs Grand Alliance

The Bihar Elections 2025 are set to begin with 121 key seats in the first phase, making this stage crucial for both the NDA and the Grand Alliance. In the 2020 elections, the Grand Alliance won 61 seats, while the NDA secured 59. This narrow margin makes the Bihar Elections 2025 more competitive than ever.

In this phase, the JDU has fielded the most candidates for the NDA with 57 seats, followed by the BJP with 48. The Grand Alliance lineup includes the RJD contesting 73 seats, Congress on 24, and CPI(ML) on 14. The new entrant Jansuraj will contest 119 seats, excluding Brahmapur and Danapur.

Last time, RJD had a stronghold in Patna and Magadh, while the NDA performed well in North Bihar. The difference of just 12 seats earlier kept the Grand Alliance away from power. This time, both alliances are campaigning intensely to gain an early lead, which could decide the final outcome. Whoever dominates the first phase will have a smoother road ahead in forming the next government.
