Rohini Acharya has demanded a delay in the Nitish Yatra after another troubling incident in Patna, similar to the NEET girl student case. She asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to focus on public safety instead of political travel.
Acharya, the daughter of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, spoke out after a teenage girl died in a girls’ hostel in Patna. The incident happened on January 6. The girl’s family has raised serious doubts and alleged foul play. Police investigations are still ongoing.
Referring to the NEET girl student case, Acharya said such incidents show a clear failure in law and order. She questioned how families can trust the system when girls do not feel safe in hostels.
The NEET girl student case earlier caused protests across Bihar. Students and political groups demanded justice and strict action. Opposition leaders accused the government of ignoring women’s safety.
Acharya said the government must act first to protect girls. She added that public events should wait until safety improves. Her demand has increased pressure on the state government to take strong steps and restore public confidence.
