NEET Student Death Case: POCSO Court Seeks CBI Report in 5 Days

NEET student death case investigation in Patna POCSO court

The NEET student death case in Patna has entered a new phase. A special POCSO court asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit an investigation report within five days.

The court set March 30 as the deadline. Judges want an update on the progress of the probe.

The NEET student death case involves a teenage girl from Jehanabad. She lived in a hostel in Patna while preparing for the NEET exam.

Hostel staff found her unconscious in her room on January 6. Doctors treated her in a hospital, but she died five days later.

Police first believed it was a suicide. Later, the post-mortem report raised doubts and suggested possible sexual assault.

The girl’s family demanded a fair probe. Public pressure also increased. The Bihar government then handed the case to the CBI.

The court now monitors the investigation closely. Officials hope the report will reveal what happened before the student’s death.
