The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in association with concessionaire Rajpath Infracon Private Limited, has created four Guinness World Records in Andhra Pradesh during the implementation of the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor. Two records were achieved on January 6 and two more on January 11, marking a significant milestone in India’s highway construction sector.
The records were set for extraordinary feats in road-laying operations, including the fastest construction of a single-lane bituminous road and the highest quantity of bituminous concrete laid within a limited time frame. These achievements highlight the use of advanced technology, meticulous planning, and round-the-clock coordination among engineers, workers, and machinery deployed at the site.
Officials said the accomplishment reflects NHAI’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development while maintaining global quality standards. The economic corridor is expected to improve connectivity, boost regional trade, and contribute substantially to Andhra Pradesh’s economic growth. The records underline India’s growing capability in executing large-scale infrastructure projects efficiently.
