The Nitin Naveen resignation has triggered a swift reshuffle in the Bihar government. After becoming the BJP’s national executive president, Nitin Naveen stepped down from his ministerial post, creating two key vacancies in the Nitish Kumar cabinet.
As a result of the Nitin Naveen resignation, the BJP leadership quickly redistributed the portfolios. Senior leader Dilip Jaiswal received charge of the Road Construction Department. He already heads the Industries Department, which has increased his administrative role in the state.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha has emerged as a major power centre. He now handles three departments. In addition to Land and Revenue and Mining, he has taken over the Urban Development Department. This move places him among the most influential ministers in the cabinet.
Earlier, Nitin Naveen managed both Road Construction and Urban Development under the BJP quota. After his exit, the party ensured that both portfolios remained within its share of the coalition government.
At the national level, Nitin Naveen formally assumed charge as acting BJP president at the party headquarters in Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda inaugurated him. Several senior leaders and supporters attended the event.
Overall, the reshuffle signals a careful balance of power within the BJP while maintaining stability in Bihar.
