During the Bihar Assembly election campaign, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attacks Tejashwi Yadav over Jeevika Didi promises, accusing the RJD leader of misleading people. Nitish said Tejashwi talks about bringing down the moon and stars but only uses the name of Jeevika Didi for votes. He added that the Jeevika women are seeking livelihoods, not tall promises.
Without naming the RJD or Tejashwi Yadav directly, Nitish Kumar said earlier governments focused on personal gain instead of helping women. He recalled the pain and suffering faced by women during the jungle raj period. He emphasized that today’s Bihar is different — women are studying, working, and contributing to the state’s growth through self-employment and government initiatives.
Nitish also highlighted his government’s steps for women, including 50% reservation in Panchayat and municipal elections, 35% in government jobs, and special domicile policies. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav promised a ₹30,000 monthly salary, ₹5 lakh insurance, and extra allowances for Jeevika Didi workers if elected.
