Non-Veg Food Banned in Maihar During Navratri Festivities
Authorities in Maihar have imposed a ban on the sale and consumption of non-vegetarian food throughout the town for the duration of the nine-day Navratri festival, beginning today.
The decision comes as thousands of devotees are expected to visit the Maihar Devi Temple, one of the most significant Shakti Peethas in India. Officials stated the move is aimed at maintaining the sanctity of the holy site and aligning with the spiritual sentiments of the pilgrims.
Local vendors and restaurants have been instructed to comply with the directive, and enforcement teams will monitor the area regularly. In addition to the food restrictions, enhanced security measures, crowd control systems, and traffic diversions have been implemented to manage the influx of visitors.
The administration urged citizens and business owners to cooperate for a peaceful and orderly celebration.
