Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Backs H-1B Visas Despite Trump’s New Rules

Nvidia CEO backs H-1B visas

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has assured employees that the company will continue sponsoring H-1B visas and cover all application costs. In a note to staff, Huang said immigration has played a vital role in both his life and Nvidia’s success.

“As one of many immigrants at Nvidia, I know the opportunities in America shaped our lives,” he wrote. He also highlighted that Nvidia’s growth depends on global talent. “The miracle of Nvidia would not be possible without immigration,” he added.

Huang stressed that legal immigration is essential for the United States to lead in technology and innovation. He promised that Nvidia will support H-1B applicants and urged workers with concerns to contact the company’s immigration team.

His statement comes shortly after US President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on September 19 to restrict the H-1B programme. The new rule introduced a $100,000 application fee, making it harder for companies to hire foreign workers.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick defended the policy, saying it would push firms to hire Americans first. However, unions, educators, and religious groups have already filed a lawsuit in California, calling the fee unjustified and unlawful.
