Late Friday evening, OBC residential school food poisoning triggered panic in Kishanganj, Bihar. Eighteen girl students suddenly fell ill after eating halwa served for dinner at their hostel. The incident occurred at the Backward Class Girls Plus Two Residential High School.
Soon after the meal, the students began vomiting and complained of uneasiness. Teachers and staff acted quickly and rushed them to Sadar Hospital by ambulance. Doctors said the symptoms clearly pointed to food poisoning.
The school is located in the Mahesh Bathna area under Sadar police station limits. The incident caused heavy rush and confusion at the hospital as parents and officials gathered for updates.
Doctors confirmed that most of the students are stable and responding well to treatment. All the girls are from different districts and stay in the hostel for education.
However, teachers present at the hospital could not give clear details about how the food got contaminated. The school administration has promised a detailed inquiry.
Sadar SDM Aniket Kumar visited the hospital and spoke to the students. He assured strict action after investigation.
