The Odisha Govt Land Drive clears encroached college land across the state and strengthens the learning environment for students. The state government began this large campaign after several colleges reported long-term encroachment issues. The Odisha Govt Land Drive aims to restore the rightful land of educational institutions and create a safer space for students.

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj explained that many colleges, including those in Bhadrak, faced serious land encroachment for years. He said that illegal structures and unauthorized activities affected the functioning of these institutions and disturbed the academic atmosphere.

The Minister highlighted the situation at Bhadrak Women’s College. He stated that antisocial elements earlier moved freely within the campus, which created insecurity among students. After the new government took charge, strict action removed these elements and brought discipline back to the college premises.

The state-wide drive now focuses on identifying every encroached area, removing unauthorized occupation, and protecting government-owned land. Officials also plan to set up monitoring systems to prevent future encroachments.

Odisha’s proactive steps reflect its commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring that colleges operate without external interference.
