Pakistan Again Links India to Afghan Tensions Without Evidence

India

Pakistan has once again accused India of fuelling its tensions with Afghanistan, but failed to provide any evidence to support the claim. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif alleged that New Delhi was keeping Islamabad “busy on two fronts” — the eastern and western borders.

“If evidence is needed, we have it,” Asif told Geo News, claiming India’s involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan. However, he offered no proof for his accusations.

Asif said Qatar and Turkey were mediating between Islamabad and Kabul after recent deadly clashes. “Everyone is united — the government, the army, and the people — to find an immediate solution,” he said, stressing that terrorism from Afghan soil must end.

The minister again called Afghanistan a “proxy for India,” alleging that the Taliban leadership was under New Delhi’s influence. “The people in Kabul pulling the strings are controlled by Delhi,” he earlier told Dawn.

Tensions between the neighbours escalated after violence along the Durand Line last month left over 70 people dead. Taliban officials blamed Pakistan for airstrikes near Kabul, while Islamabad accused the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan of using Afghan territory for attacks.
