MP Pappu Yadav continues to press for Purnia Airport national status. He said the airport was the dream of Seemanchal and Kosi residents and now needs regular flights to serve North Bihar. After flights resumed on weekends, he thanked the Defence and Civil Aviation Ministers but reminded the government of its responsibility to ensure consistent service.
Yadav urged the Modi government to grant Purnia Airport national status and expand passenger facilities. He explained that better air service will boost business, education, healthcare, and tourism while attracting investment to the region.
The MP revealed he has spoken with officials from the Civil Aviation and Defence Ministries to increase flight frequency. He noted that just as the Vande Bharat train improved rail links, air services will transform connectivity and development in Purnia.
During a recent airport visit, Yadav stressed the need for more amenities. He said connectivity directly drives Purnia’s economic and social progress, and his efforts will continue until the airport reaches national-level recognition.
