Due to the derailment, both up and down lines on the busy Patna–Howrah rail section stopped operating. Railway authorities immediately rushed rescue and technical teams to the spot. Heavy cranes and machinery were deployed to remove the derailed wagons and repair the damaged tracks.
Following the incident, railways cancelled 14 trains, while 18 others were diverted through alternative routes. Several passenger trains also ran behind schedule, causing inconvenience to thousands of travelers. Passengers waiting at major stations faced long delays and crowding.
Officials confirmed that no injuries or casualties were reported in the accident. Restoration work continued throughout Sunday, and railway authorities said normal operations were expected to resume once safety checks were completed.
