Amid the sharp drop in temperature, the Patna School Timing Change order has been issued for all government and private schools. The Patna School Timing Change aims to keep children safe as the city faces a strong cold wave. The district education officer said the decision helps protect students from the severe morning chill.
Now, the first class in schools will not start before 8 am. The order was sent to all headmasters and private school operators so they follow the new timings from Tuesday. Cold winds blowing at 15–20 km/h across the state, including Patna, are making mornings and evenings even colder. Fog is expected in many areas for the next two to three days.
Westerly winds have increased the chill further. Although the temperature will not rise much for the next three to four days, the weather department has predicted dense fog during early mornings. On Sunday, Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 24.9°C and a minimum of 13°C. Fog is likely in several parts of the city.
