Ande Sri, the eminent Telugu poet, lyricist, and writer, has passed away, leaving a deep void in the literary world. His sudden demise has shocked many admirers and followers of Telugu literature across the Telugu states.
Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, expressed profound grief over Ande Sri’s passing. He prayed for the poet’s soul to rest in peace, recalling his remarkable journey from a humble shepherd and construction worker to one of the most respected lyricists in the Telugu language.
Pawan Kalyan praised Ande Sri’s mastery of Telangana’s dialect and folk tradition. He mentioned that Ande Sri’s songs reflected the pulse of society and the struggles of common people. The song “Maayamaipothunnadamma Manishannavadu” was cited as an example of his sensitivity to humanity.
Highlighting Ande Sri’s greatest contribution, Pawan Kalyan said the song “Jaya Jayahe Telangana Janani Jaya Ketanam” — now the Telangana State Anthem — immortalized him in history. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and described Ande Sri’s legacy as timeless.
