The new complex being built to house the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has been officially named ‘Seva Teerth’, marking a major milestone in the Central Vista redevelopment. Earlier called the ‘Executive Enclave’, the project is now nearing completion.

Officials said the name reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance ethos — a shift from “satta to seva”, emphasising service over authority. They described Seva Teerth as a space where national priorities will be shaped, representing a cultural and moral transition in India’s public institutions.

The complex will accommodate the PMO, the Cabinet Secretariat, the National Security Council Secretariat, and India House, which will host high-level diplomatic meetings.

In line with this symbolic shift, Raj Bhavans across states are being renamed ‘Lok Bhavans’, and the Central Secretariat is now known as Kartavya Bhavan.

Officials said these changes aim to reinforce a governance culture rooted in duty, responsibility and public service.
