A police officer suicide in Bihar shocked the police department after a sub-inspector allegedly shot himself with his service revolver in Vaishali district. The incident happened on Monday evening at the officer’s rented house in Hajipur.
The officer has been identified as Sub-Inspector Kaushal Kishore Kumar, who was posted as the in-charge of Jadhua outpost. Reports say he returned home in the evening and later fired a shot at himself inside a locked room. His wife was in another room when the gunshot was heard.
Family members and neighbors rushed to the room after hearing the sound. When they broke open the door, they found him lying in a pool of blood. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving the information.
Officials sent the body for post-mortem and started an investigation. According to senior officers, the police officer suicide in Bihar may be linked to personal reasons, but authorities are examining all possible angles.
