Prem Prakash Vidyarthi, the main accused in the Prem Prakash Vidyarthi scam, has been arrested from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He is a resident of Aurangabad district in Bihar. Police say he defrauded people of over ₹100 crore by promising MBBS and other medical seats through illegal NEET exam assistance.
This man used four different names — Prem Prakash Vidyarthi, Abhinav Sharma, Rajiv Singh, and Sarvesh Shukla. For almost six years, he ran a fraud network across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, and Gujarat. Photos of him with celebrities and politicians, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Chaudhary, and Tejashwi Yadav, are circulating online and are now under investigation.
The Prem Prakash Vidyarthi scam shocked his home district. He is originally from Siris Fatehpur village in Barun block. His father, Sardar Singh, said he had no idea about the arrest. He also said that his son has not visited home for nearly six years. Villagers claim Prem rarely visited and lived a luxurious life elsewhere.
Local people also revealed that he once built a ghat in the village and often introduced himself as “Kanhai.” Police records show he had previously been jailed under Section 420.
