Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan emphasised that Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers must ensure fair and transparent polling in the upcoming Jubilee Hills bye-election. He said officials should understand their duties thoroughly and perform them with integrity and neutrality.
The second phase of training for election officers was held on Tuesday at G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science, Shaikpet. Nearly 500 officials attended the sessions, conducted in two batches. Election Police Observer Om Prakash Tripathi and Expenditure Observer Sanjeev Kumar Lal inspected the arrangements and guided the teams.
During the training, DEO Karnan and GHMC Additional Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil made a detailed presentation explaining roles and responsibilities. Master Trainers demonstrated the operation of Ballot Units, Control Units, and VVPATs. With 59 candidates in the fray, officials were instructed to connect four Ballot Units, one Control Unit, and one VVPAT per polling station.
Karnan urged officers to strictly follow ECI guidelines, prepare polling day checklists, and verify all materials, including EVMs and voter lists. He reminded that transparency, punctuality, and proper documentation are essential to ensure smooth polling in Jubilee Hills.
