Property of 308 Sand Liquor Land Mafia Will Be Confiscated in Major Bihar Crackdown

Property of 308 sand liquor land mafia will be confiscated during Bihar EOU action

Property of 308 sand liquor land mafia will be confiscated as the Bihar government begins a strong crackdown on organised crime. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has prepared a list of people involved in illegal sand mining, land grabbing, and liquor smuggling across the state.

According to senior officials, investigators tracked illegal income and linked it directly to properties owned by these mafia members. As a result, authorities will seize land, houses, bank accounts, and other assets after completing legal procedures.

Meanwhile, the EOU has sent proposals to the Enforcement Directorate to attach assets worth over ₹55 crore belonging to 19 major land and sand mafia operators. Officials said this list marks only the first phase of action.

In addition, police teams gathered financial records and property documents to strengthen each case. They focused on repeat offenders and influential figures operating in sensitive areas.

At the same time, Bihar Police identified nearly 289 liquor mafia members under the state’s prohibition laws. District officials are now processing more than 130 property seizure cases.

Therefore, the government aims to destroy the financial base of criminal networks. Officials believe this strict action will reduce illegal activities and restore control over land and natural resources.
