Punjab Governor Kataria Pays Tribute to Shivraj Patil

Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria paid heartfelt tributes to former Union Home Minister and ex-Governor of Punjab, Shri Shivraj Patil, who passed away on December 12. The ceremony took place at Punjab Lok Bhawan.

Governor Kataria offered floral tributes, describing Shri Patil as an experienced statesman, able administrator, and respected parliamentarian. “We deeply mourn the passing away of Shri Shivraj Patil Ji,” he said, acknowledging Patil’s decades of dedicated public service.

Born on October 12, 1935, Shri Patil held several key constitutional and parliamentary positions. He served as Union Home Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, and briefly held additional charge as Governor of Rajasthan. His leadership and contributions left a lasting impact on the nation.

During the tribute ceremony, Governor Kataria was joined by officers and staff of Punjab Lok Bhawan. Together, they observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul.

The event highlighted the enduring legacy of Shri Shivraj Patil and the high regard in which he was held by public officials and citizens alike. The tribute underscored his commitment to governance, parliamentary democracy, and public welfare.
