Punjab Police Foils Grenade Attack Plot Linked to ISI Network
The Punjab Police announced that it has dismantled a Pakistan-based ISI-backed grenade attack module accused of planning targeted strikes within the State. The breakthrough came after an FIR was registered on October 27, 2025, under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Explosives Act, along with Section 113 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), at the Jodhewal police station.
According to officials, the module was operating with logistical support from handlers across the border, who allegedly facilitated the supply of weapons and explosive materials. Preliminary investigations suggest that the group had been preparing for attacks aimed at disrupting public order and security.
Multiple suspects have been detained, and police teams are carrying out further raids to trace additional operatives and recover more incriminating material. Authorities say the bust underscores ongoing attempts by foreign elements to destabilise the region and reaffirmed their commitment to preventing such plots.
