PUSU Election: 500 Votes Cancelled After Students Write Abuses on Ballot Paper

In the PUSU election, nearly 500 ballot papers were cancelled after students wrote abusive words instead of marking their choice. During the PUSU election, officials found several ballots filled with offensive comments, which made them invalid under voting rules.

The incident took place at Patna University during the counting of student union votes. Election officials said students had received clear instructions on how to vote. They were told to mark a cross (X) next to their preferred candidate’s name.

However, many students ignored the guidelines. Some wrote remarks against candidates, while others marked multiple options or made unclear symbols. As a result, authorities rejected those ballot papers.

Officials confirmed that around 500 votes could not be counted due to these mistakes. The issue has raised concerns about voter awareness and discipline during campus elections.
