Raghav Chadha Flood Relief: MP Allocates ₹3.25 Crore for Punjab

Raghav Chadha flood relief tractor visit in Gurdaspur

Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha is back in Punjab politics after months of silence. His return comes as the state faces its worst floods in recent history. Raghav Chadha flood relief efforts have drawn attention after his visits to Gurdaspur and Amritsar.

Last week, Chadha toured flood-hit Gurdaspur on a tractor. Today, he announced ₹3.25 crore from his MPLADS fund. Of this, ₹2.75 crore will strengthen and repair flood embankments in Gurdaspur, while ₹50 lakh will support relief and rehabilitation in Amritsar.

In his message, Chadha expressed sorrow over the 30 lives lost and offered condolences to the families. He thanked the Army, NDRF, BSF, Punjab Police, doctors, NGOs, and volunteers for their tireless work.

Chadha said the funds “belong to Punjab and Punjabis,” assuring that every rupee would be used for rebuilding. He promised to raise the issue in Parliament and push the Centre for more aid.

Alongside Chadha, MPs Vikramjit Singh Sawhney and Balbir Singh Seechewal are also active in relief work. Seechewal has been leading efforts in Sultanpur Lodhi, rescuing people stranded in submerged villages.
