The Rajasthan State Election Commission has issued strict transfer instructions ahead of local body elections.
The directive covers Panchayati Raj and Urban Local Body polls.

The Commission said no officer will remain posted in their home district or home area before elections.
It aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the electoral process.

The order applies to divisional commissioners and senior police officials.
IGs, DIGs, district collectors, and superintendents of police will face transfers if posted in home districts.
Additional collectors, additional SPs, SDMs, assistant collectors, DSPs, and tehsildars also come under the rule.

In Jaipur and Jodhpur, the directive includes police commissioners and senior city police officers.
They cannot serve in their home districts during the election period.

The Commission has also issued instructions for urban local body areas.
Municipal commissioners, SHOs, naib tehsildars, and sub-inspectors will not serve in home municipal areas.
BDOs and other officials will also move if posted in their home panchayat samiti zones.

The Commission has fixed April 30, 2026, as the cut-off date.
Any officer who served over three years in the last four years must be transferred.

All transfers must conclude by February 28, 2026.
The Commission said the move will prevent undue influence and administrative pressure during elections.
