Retired Soldier Shot Dead in Patna Land Dispute created panic in the Gopalpur area on Thursday afternoon. The Retired Soldier Shot Dead in Patna Land Dispute was identified as Tejnandan Rai, who had earlier served in the Army. He had gone to his land in Manpur Bairiya to mark the boundary.
Police said Tejnandan bought the land in 2005. A dispute had been going on for some time. On Thursday, a group of men reached the spot and started arguing with him. The argument soon turned violent.
One of the accused pulled out a gun and fired at Tejnandan. He suffered multiple bullet injuries and collapsed at the site. Local people rushed him to a nearby private hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Police teams reached the scene quickly and started an investigation. Officers have identified some suspects and are conducting raids to arrest them.
