Ritlal Yadav Bail Plea: Patna Court Delays Hearing Before Polls

Ritlal Yadav bail plea hearing in Patna High Court

Jailed RJD leader and Danapur MLA, Ritlal Yadav, has filed a bail plea in the Patna High Court to campaign in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The key phrase Ritlal Yadav bail plea highlights the ongoing court battle. The hearing has been postponed to October 30, after Diwali and Chhath Puja. Yadav, accused of extortion and threats, was shifted from Patna’s Beur Jail to Bhagalpur Jail for security reasons.

Senior advocate Yogesh Chandra Verma argued that Yadav’s plea is due to special circumstances, as he has been nominated by the RJD from Danapur. However, the state’s advocate general opposed the plea, calling it “not maintainable.” The court directed the government to submit a counter-affidavit.

Ritlal Yadav, known as a bahubali leader, remains in custody but hopes for temporary bail to campaign. His Ritlal Yadav bail plea will be crucial in determining whether he can contest actively or remain behind bars.
