The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is facing its biggest internal crisis after a humiliating defeat in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, with the political setback now turning into a highly public, emotional and bitter family dispute. The controversy erupted when RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, accused her brother and party leader Tejashwi Yadav’s close aides of abusing her, denying her respect within the family, and forcing her out of the house. Her allegations, shared through a series of emotional social media posts, exposed the widening rift within the family that dominates the party structure.
Rohini further alleged that she was mocked for donating her kidney to her father and accused of taking money and bargaining for a Lok Sabha ticket. Hours after her statements, three of her sisters—Ragini, Chanda, and Rajlakshmi—reportedly left the family home, signaling intensified tensions.
Meanwhile, their brother Tej Pratap Yadav also reacted strongly, expressing solidarity with Rohini and stating that the humiliation was “unbearable.” He indirectly blamed a few advisers around Tejashwi for influencing party decisions and triggering the internal breakdown.
The feud reportedly stems from disagreements over accountability for the party’s poor poll performance, with Rohini demanding a serious review. She also publicly criticized Tejashwi’s inner circle, including key strategist Sanjay Yadav and close associate Rameez, whom she described as wielding unchecked influence.
The escalating feud has not only damaged the family’s unity but also intensified concerns over leadership stability, grassroots morale, and the party’s future political prospects.
