The RTC Elections and Merger process will move forward in phases, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced. He said the government will first conduct recognition union elections before taking up the RTC Elections and Merger process with employee representatives.
Ponnam said the government is fulfilling every promise made to TGSRTC employees. He explained that officials and union leaders discussed 32 demands during a meeting. Out of these, 29 issues are already being addressed by the RTC management, while the remaining three require government decisions.
The minister confirmed that an 11% salary fitment will be implemented from July salaries. He also said Labour Joint Commissioner Sunita has been appointed as the nodal officer to conduct recognition union elections soon.
According to Ponnam, elected union representatives will be included in the committee that prepares the RTC merger plan. He urged employees not to believe rumours and assured them that the government is committed to completing the merger in a transparent manner.
