Russian Drone and Missile Strikes Kill Three in Kyiv, Hit Lviv Infrastructure
Russia launched a fresh wave of drone and missile attacks on Ukraine, killing at least three people in the capital Kyiv, Ukrainian officials said. Air defence systems were activated across several regions as explosions were reported during the overnight assault. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Kyiv sustained damage, with emergency services deployed to rescue survivors and assess losses.
In western Ukraine, Russia also struck critical infrastructure in the city of Lviv using what Ukrainian authorities described as an unidentified ballistic missile. The attack caused power disruptions in parts of the region, raising concerns about further strain on energy supplies during winter. Officials said efforts were underway to restore services and prevent wider outages.
Ukrainian authorities condemned the strikes as deliberate attacks on civilians and vital infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated calls for stronger international support, including air defence systems. The latest attacks underscore the continued intensity of the conflict, despite diplomatic efforts to seek a resolution.
