Tamil Nadu captain R. Sai Kishore believes that the team must enjoy the game to break out of its difficult phase in the current Ranji Trophy season. He has shifted his focus toward lifting the team’s confidence ahead of the Group-A clash against Uttar Pradesh at the Sri Ramakrishna College ground.
TN has struggled this season, and doubts have naturally crept in after repeated setbacks. Sai Kishore said he wants his teammates to relax, trust their abilities, and play with freedom. He explained that enjoying the game is the only way to regain rhythm and execute plans with clarity.
The batting unit has faced the most criticism. TN fell for under 200 in both innings against Andhra in the previous round, raising concerns about shot selection and temperament. Kishore acknowledged the pressure but insisted that tight shoulders and fear of failure only worsen the situation.
He encouraged batters to focus on basics, rotate strike early, and build steady partnerships. According to the skipper, a calm and positive dressing room can quickly shift momentum in a long tournament like the Ranji Trophy.
As TN prepares for the next match, Sai Kishore hopes a lighter mindset will spark a strong comeback.
