The Sanju Samson CSK Trade has shaken the Indian Premier League after Rajasthan Royals sent their long-time captain to Chennai Super Kings in one of the biggest exchanges in league history. The Sanju Samson CSK Trade also brings Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to RR, creating a rare three-player swap between two major franchises.
Samson will play for CSK next season at his existing price of ₹18 crore. RR gained Jadeja at a revised fee of ₹14 crore and retained Curran at ₹2.4 crore. The league confirmed the deal in an official statement.
Samson spent more than a decade with RR. He joined the franchise in 2013, became a top-order mainstay, and later took over the captaincy in 2021. He led the team to the 2022 IPL final and delivered strong batting seasons, including 531 runs in 2024.
Jadeja reunites with RR after 16 years. He brings unmatched experience, 143 wickets for CSK, and over 2,100 runs. His 2023 final-winning cameo remains one of CSK’s most iconic moments.
Curran joins his third IPL team and strengthens RR’s all-round options. He has 997 career runs and 59 wickets across 64 matches.
Franchise officials expect the blockbuster swap to reshape both teams ahead of the next IPL season.
