Senthilbalaji: Chief Minister Stalin Committed to Bringing Metro Rail to Coimbatore and Madurai
Tamil Nadu’s Transport Minister V. Senthilbalaji has assured that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is committed to bringing Metro Rail projects to Coimbatore and Madurai, citing them as key priorities for the state government. Speaking in Coimbatore, Senthilbalaji highlighted the DMK’s track record in successfully implementing urban transport initiatives despite initial funding hurdles.
He pointed out that the Chennai Metro Rail project was initially not sanctioned funds by the Centre, yet the DMK-led government moved ahead with the project, demonstrating administrative resolve and commitment to public infrastructure. The Minister argued that the same proactive approach would be applied to Coimbatore and Madurai, ensuring timely planning and execution of Metro Rail networks in these cities.
Senthilbalaji emphasized that Metro Rail is essential for modernizing urban transport, reducing congestion, and improving connectivity. He urged citizens to support the government’s vision for sustainable and efficient public transportation in Tamil Nadu’s growing urban centres.
