Shehbaz Sharif trolled over Putin meeting video

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif faced heavy trolling after a video from Turkmenistan went viral online. The clip appeared to show him walking into a closed-door meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to a video shared by RT India, the incident occurred in Ashgabat. The leaders were attending the International Forum on the International Year of Peace and Trust. Sharif’s scheduled bilateral meeting with Putin was reportedly delayed. Meanwhile, Putin was holding talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

RT India initially claimed Sharif waited for about 40 minutes with his delegation. After that, he allegedly entered the room where the Putin–Erdogan meeting was underway. As a result, social media users mocked the Pakistani Prime Minister. Many accused him of “gatecrashing” the high-level discussion.

However, RT India later deleted the video. The outlet said the post may have misrepresented the actual sequence of events. In a statement on X, RT India said it removed the post to avoid confusion. Pakistani media offered a different account of the incident. According to these reports, Sharif met both Putin and Erdogan. They discussed bilateral ties and broader regional issues during the interaction.

In addition, Shehbaz Sharif also held a separate meeting with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian. That meeting focused on matters of mutual and regional interest. The incident has sparked debate online. However, officials have not issued any further clarification so far.
