Shivraj Chouhan Praises Ransih Kalan for Stubble-Free Success as he interacted with residents who showed strong support for sustainable agriculture.

Chouhan noted that stubble burning may clear fields quickly, but it harms insects, soil health, and the environment. He highlighted an 83% drop in stubble-burning incidents in Punjab this year and encouraged farmers nationwide to follow the Ransih Kalan model.

The Minister explained how farmers in the village mix stubble into the soil and use direct seeding. They save water, diesel and fertiliser, while improving soil carbon and crop productivity. He shared examples of farmers who now use fewer bags of DAP and urea due to better soil nutrition.

Chouhan also praised the village for adopting rainwater harvesting, plastic management, and an active anti-drug campaign. He said that Ransih Kalan offers valuable lessons for farmers across India.

The Minister assured farmers that the government will continue procurement at MSP and will also buy lentil, pigeon pea, black gram and chickpea, ensuring full value for their hard work.
