A Short Circuit Fire in Samastipur claimed the life of a five-year-old boy in Bishanpur Musahari Tola on Sunday. The fire started after an electrical short circuit in a thatched house. The victim, Shyam, was sleeping inside the house with his twin brother when the flames suddenly spread.
The Short Circuit Fire in Samastipur spread quickly through the hut. Villagers rushed to help and managed to rescue one child, but Shyam remained trapped inside. By the time people reached him, the flames had already engulfed the house. He died on the spot due to severe burns.
The blaze destroyed five nearby houses and burned household items such as clothes, grain, and cash. A goat also died in the fire. Fire brigade teams later arrived and controlled the flames with the help of villagers.
Police reached the site soon after the incident and sent the child’s body for post-mortem. Officials and a forensic team have started an investigation to confirm the exact cause of the fire.
