The Siliguri to Patna bus accident created panic among passengers after a sleeper bus collided with a mini truck in Bihar’s Araria district late Monday night. Several passengers suffered injuries when the sudden impact threw them off their sleeper berths. The Siliguri to Patna bus accident happened near Forbesganj close to a bus stand entrance.
According to local reports, the bus was travelling from Siliguri in West Bengal to Patna when it crashed into a fast-moving mini truck near an illegal road cut. The truck was carrying vegetables and was heading from Kolkata toward Bettiah. The collision badly damaged the front portion of the truck.
Many passengers who were resting in sleeper berths fell down due to the sudden crash. Around half a dozen passengers received injuries, while the truck driver and his helper suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Local residents and rescue teams rushed to the scene and pulled the trapped truck driver out using a gas cutter. Police reached the spot soon after the accident and arranged another vehicle so passengers could continue their journey to Patna. Authorities have started an investigation into the incident.
