SIT Files 3,900-Page Chargesheet Against Six in Dharmasthala False Evidence Case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has filed a 3,900-page chargesheet against six individuals in the Dharmasthala case, alleging offences including the creation of false evidence, forgery, and related criminal acts. The case stems from allegations surrounding the burial of multiple bodies in Dharmasthala village between 1995 and 2014, a claim that had drawn significant public attention.
Earlier, on May 5, 2025, the Supreme Court had rejected a public interest litigation filed by Chinniah, who sought a court-monitored probe into the alleged burials. The Court found no grounds to intervene and dismissed the plea, paving the way for the ongoing SIT investigation under the state’s jurisdiction.
With the latest chargesheet, the SIT has detailed its findings and evidence collected over months of inquiry. The filing is expected to set the stage for further judicial proceedings as the accused prepare to defend themselves against the serious allegations.
