SP Targeted in WhatsApp Money Scam

Bihar cyber fraud case news headline

In a surprising Bihar cyber fraud case, two men from Vaishali were arrested for trying to cheat Khagaria SP Rakesh Kumar. This Bihar cyber fraud case began when the criminals sent WhatsApp messages pretending to be the DGP and demanded money. Police acted fast and formed a special team to investigate the matter.

During the probe, the team found that the scammer’s mobile phone and email were linked to his bank account. The arrested men, Madhukant Kumar and Nikhil Kumar, admitted that they were part of a larger gang. They said the gang used fake identities to get SIM cards and open bank accounts. These SIM cards were later sold and used for cyber crimes.

Police recovered two mobile phones, two passbooks, two Aadhaar cards, one PAN card, and two SIM cards. Raids are still going on to catch the remaining gang members. The case has raised serious concerns about rising cyber crimes in Bihar and the methods used by fraudsters to trick even senior officials.
