Stalin Says Bihar Verdict Cannot Erase EC’s ‘Misdeeds’
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said that the Bihar election results, despite being decisive, do not “whitewash the misdeeds and reckless actions” of the Election Commission. Reacting to the outcome, he emphasised that the Bihar mandate carries important lessons for political parties, institutions, and democratic processes across the country.
Mr. Stalin criticised what he described as irregularities and questionable actions by the Election Commission during the electoral process, arguing that a victory for any party cannot justify institutional lapses. He reiterated the need for transparency, accountability, and reforms to protect the integrity of elections.
The Chief Minister also stated that democratic institutions must remain neutral and robust, especially during crucial electoral exercises. The Bihar election, he added, should prompt deeper reflection on strengthening democratic norms and ensuring that public trust in the electoral system remains intact.
