State Pays Rich Tributes to NTR on 30th Death Anniversary
Tributes were paid across Andhra Pradesh on Sunday to former Chief Minister and Telugu cinema icon N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) on his 30th death anniversary. Leaders, party workers, and admirers remembered his contributions to politics, culture, and social welfare, highlighting his enduring influence on Telugu society.
In Tirupati and Kurnool, members of various political parties, including the Telugu Desam Party, offered floral tributes at statues and portraits of NTR. Speakers recalled his rise from a legendary film actor to a transformative political leader who reshaped State politics by championing self-respect and regional pride. His landmark welfare initiatives, including subsidised rice schemes and empowerment of rural and marginalised communities, were remembered with gratitude.
Several programmes, cultural events, and meetings were organised to mark the occasion, with speakers urging the younger generation to draw inspiration from NTR’s leadership and commitment to public service.
