Strengthening Strategic Bonds: US Ambassador Meets Modi
Newly appointed U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor called his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi “incredible” and expressed optimism about the future of India–U.S. relations. PM Modi welcomed Gor warmly and expressed confidence that his tenure would further strengthen the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Gor reaffirmed that the U.S. values its ties with India and looks forward to deeper cooperation in areas such as defence, trade, and technology. He noted that President Trump sees Modi as a close and personal friend — a bond he hopes to build on during his time in India.
The envoy also met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who wished him success in his role. Both sides emphasized continuity in strategic dialogue and mutual respect, setting the tone for a proactive partnership.
Gor concluded by saying he was “optimistic” about the days ahead.
