The student Facebook friend kidnapping case in Deoria has created intense worry for the family of a college girl who travelled to Jammu and Kashmir with a youth she met online. The student Facebook friend kidnapping incident began on November 14 when the girl left home for college but later called her brother to say she was going to Kashmir with Ayan, a youth from Jammu and Kashmir.
Her mobile switched off soon after the call, which increased the family’s fear. They believe the case may involve “love jihad” and immediately approached the police for help.
Police acted quickly and registered a kidnapping case against Ayan based on the brother’s complaint. Officers started tracing the girl’s last known location and began examining her social media chats and call records.
Kotwal Vinod Kumar Singh said the investigation is moving quickly. The police team is tracking both the girl and Ayan, and they have also coordinated with Jammu and Kashmir Police for support.
The family is hoping for the girl’s safe return as the case continues to develop.
