The Sultanganj EO murder mastermind Ramdhin Yadav was killed in a police encounter in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district on Wednesday morning. Police said the accused opened fire when officers tried to arrest him during a raid. The Sultanganj EO murder mastermind Ramdhin Yadav suffered bullet injuries in the exchange and later died during treatment at a hospital.
The encounter took place when police teams searched for weapons used in the murder of Executive Officer Krishna Bhushan Kumar. Officers had identified Ramdhin Yadav through CCTV footage after the attack inside the Sultanganj Nagar Parishad office.
During the operation, several policemen including a DSP and inspectors were injured in the firing. Police said the encounter lasted around 15 minutes before the accused was overpowered. Another suspect, identified as Deepak, was arrested during the action.
The shocking murder occurred when armed attackers entered the government office and shot EO Krishna Bhushan Kumar at close range. The chairman of the municipal body was also seriously injured in the attack.
Police continue to investigate the conspiracy behind the crime.
