Two relatives of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput are contesting the Bihar Assembly elections. His cousin Neeraj Singh Bablu, a five-time MLA and BJP minister, will contest again from Chhatapur in Supaul. He started his career with JDU but joined BJP after 2015. Neeraj has a long political history and will file his nomination for the sixth time on October 16.
Sushant’s cousin Divya Gautam is entering politics for the first time. A UGC-NET qualified academic, she has been active in CPI-ML politics after serving briefly in the Bihar government. She will contest from Digha constituency in Patna. Divya began her journey through Patna University’s student politics with AISA, where she narrowly lost the student union elections in 2012.
Their participation adds star attention to the Bihar elections. The contest between Neeraj Singh Bablu and Divya Gautam shows political diversity within the same family.
