SVU raid Gajadhar Mandal has revealed massive assets allegedly far beyond his known income. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) carried out early morning raids at multiple locations linked to Gajadhar Mandal, Director, Quality Monitoring (North), Building Construction Department, Darbhanga.
During the SVU raid Gajadhar Mandal, officials recovered documents related to 16 land parcels worth ₹3.41 crore. Fixed deposits and shares worth ₹30.80 lakh were seized. Gold and silver jewellery valued at ₹8 lakh and cash of ₹1.88 lakh were also found in the names of Mandal and his wife.
Investigators also traced investments in LIC and Star Health policies. These financial links are now under detailed scrutiny.
The raids covered Mandal’s residence in Bakharpur, Pirpainti, a flat in Gangotri Apartment at Sabour, his office-cum-central laboratory in Shastri Nagar, Patna, and another flat in AG Colony.
Earlier, SVU registered Case No. 27/2025 against Mandal for allegedly acquiring assets worth ₹2.82 crore more than his known income. According to SVU ADG Pankaj Kumar Darad, preliminary findings suggest wealth was amassed through illegal means during government service.
Out of the 16 land parcels, six are in Mandal’s name and ten in his wife’s name. Twelve are commercial properties and four are residential, mainly located in Bhagalpur district.
