During a recent interaction, the Karnataka Chief Minister spoke about governance, development, and the growing role of southern states in India’s progress. DK Shivakumar comments on Telangana highlighted the importance of cooperation and healthy competition among neighboring states.

Shivakumar said states should focus on improving infrastructure, creating jobs, and attracting investments. He stressed that development should remain the main priority for governments rather than political differences.

The Karnataka leader also praised the rapid growth seen in several southern states. He noted that strong administration and investment-friendly policies help states achieve better economic results.

His remarks quickly drew reactions from political leaders and supporters. Many viewed the comments as an effort to encourage regional development and stronger ties between states.

Political observers believe such statements may influence future discussions on governance, investment, and regional cooperation in South India.

Mallikarjun Kharge slams Congress workers after a group of party supporters interrupted his speech during an event in Bengaluru. The Congress president lost his temper when workers shouted slogans in support of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

The incident took place at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office during the oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed party office-bearers. Senior leaders, including D.K. Shivakumar and Mallikarjun Kharge, attended the program.

While Kharge was addressing the gathering, some supporters began chanting “DK, DK” slogans repeatedly. Their chants disrupted the speech and created noise inside the venue.

An upset Kharge immediately responded from the stage. He asked the workers to remain silent and warned them against disturbing the meeting. He also criticized them for trying to display loyalty to their leader at the wrong time and reportedly called them “useless fellows.”

Seeing the situation escalate, D.K. Shivakumar stood up and signaled his supporters to stop the slogans. The incident has since sparked discussion in political circles and on social media.

The move ended months of political speculation inside the Congress party. Siddaramaiah informed his cabinet colleagues about the decision during a breakfast meeting at his official residence in Bengaluru.

Later, he submitted his resignation letter to the Governor’s office at Lok Bhavan. Reports suggest the Congress high command approved the leadership change after internal discussions. With Siddaramaiah resigns as Karnataka Chief Minister, attention has now shifted to Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is likely to take charge soon.

The resignation has created a strong buzz across Karnataka politics.

Fresh talks about a leadership change in Karnataka have put the Congress party under pressure. Senior leaders, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, are expected to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi soon. The Rahul Gandhi Karnataka crisis has once again sparked debate inside the party.

Sources say the Congress leadership is discussing three possible options. The first is allowing Siddaramaiah to continue as Chief Minister until the next election. The second option is giving DK Shivakumar a larger role in government affairs. The third option is a power-sharing formula to balance both leaders.

The Rahul Gandhi Karnataka crisis comes at a crucial time as Congress prepares for future elections. Party leaders want to avoid internal conflict and present a united image before voters. Congress leaders believe a final decision could help strengthen the party ahead of key political battles in the state.

Devaraj Urs served as chief minister for a total of 2,792 days across two terms between 1972 and 1980.
Since returning to power in May 2023, Siddaramaiah has completed 963 days in his second term so far. At 77, he remains one of the most experienced leaders in Karnataka. He stated that he never entered politics to break records and expressed confidence in completing his term.

The achievement comes amid talk of a power-sharing arrangement with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has defended the state government’s efforts to repair Bengaluru’s roads, stating that civic teams are filling thousands of potholes daily, even amid heavy rains. Speaking to reporters on Monday, he emphasized that poor roads are a nationwide issue, not unique to Karnataka.

Shivakumar cited his visit to Delhi, noting potholes even on the Prime Minister’s residence road. “The media is showcasing potholes as only Karnataka’s problem, but poor roads exist across India,” he said, pointing out that major IT companies should recognize this reality.

His comments come as Bengaluru faces growing criticism over crumbling infrastructure. Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy recently called the city a “city of potholes,” while logistics firm BlackBuck cited poor road conditions on the Outer Ring Road as a reason to relocate.

The Deputy Chief Minister dismissed concerns about companies leaving Bengaluru, highlighting the city’s talent pool of over 25 lakh engineers and nearly two lakh foreign professionals as proof of its continued global appeal.

Shivakumar announced a final deadline for contractors to complete pothole repairs by November and unveiled a Rs 1,100 crore plan for citywide road repair and construction. “Our goal is a clean Bengaluru and smooth traffic movement. The GBA will ensure potholes are cleared as soon as possible,” he added.

The Bengaluru potholes news underscores both the city’s infrastructure challenges and the state government’s efforts to improve road conditions before the end of the year.
