The Subhadra Yojana Big Update was shared by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida during her address in the Odisha Assembly on Saturday.

She said that more than 17 lakh fresh beneficiaries joined the scheme after door-to-door verification. A total of 17,83,251 women qualified for inclusion, while 9,36,283 applications failed the verification checks. Officials checked household records and cross-verified details to keep the process transparent.

The Deputy Chief Minister added that financial support has already reached over 97 lakh women across the state. These beneficiaries received all three instalments released under the scheme. More than 1 crore women collected the first instalment, while about 1.01 crore collected the second.

The government reopened applications on November 1, 2025. Women turning 21 before April 2026 and those who missed earlier deadlines can still apply through the official portal. Fresh applicants will receive two instalments together on March 8, 2026. However, women marked ineligible during past surveys should avoid reapplying.

Ashirwad Scheme: Punjab Government Releases Rs 22.66 Crore to support Scheduled Caste families across Punjab. Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur announced the release for the 2025–26 financial year. A total of 4,443 beneficiaries will receive aid under the scheme, which provides Rs 51,000 per eligible girl for marriage expenses.

The Punjab Government ensures transparency by transferring the funds directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Each family can claim support for up to two daughters, helping low-income households plan weddings without financial stress.

Applications came through the Ashirwad Portal from 15 districts, including Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Mansa, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, Pathankot, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Sangrur, and Malerkotla. Among these, Amritsar recorded the highest number of beneficiaries, 1,297, reflecting strong participation from families in the district.

Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that the scheme aligns with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision to empower marginalized communities. She emphasized that Ashirwad not only provides financial support but also promotes dignity, equality, and social upliftment. The initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to inclusive development and ensures that economic hardship does not prevent families from celebrating important life events.

The Minister also stated that the scheme strengthens social security for low-income Scheduled Caste families and encourages timely compliance with the program’s rules. Officials have been directed to monitor and support the beneficiaries to ensure smooth and timely disbursement.

Through initiatives like Ashirwad, the Punjab Government demonstrates proactive social welfare measures, aiming to create lasting impact on marginalized communities while promoting financial independence and empowerment across the state.

BJP Mahila Morcha stages massive protest in Chandigarh as hundreds of women workers demanded the implementation of AAP’s ₹1,000-per-month promise. The protest created strong political pressure as women leaders accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal of misleading the women of Punjab. During the protest, participants repeated their call for accountability and insisted that the government honour its commitment.

The demonstration, led by Biba Jai Inder Kaur, drew a huge gathering of women workers. They marched from the BJP office toward the Chief Minister’s residence while raising slogans against the AAP government. Many protesters said women trusted the promise made during the 2021 campaign and now feel betrayed.

However, the situation intensified when Chandigarh Police stopped the march by placing heavy barricades on the route. Police teams blocked further movement, which led to heated arguments between the protesters and the security personnel. Officers detained several women leaders, including Biba Jai Inder Kaur and Parampal Kaur Maluka, creating chaotic scenes at the spot.

Even after the detentions, BJP Mahila Morcha stages massive protest with unwavering determination. Leaders said they would continue raising their voice until every woman receives the promised financial support. They insisted that the AAP government must deliver on its guarantee instead of offering excuses.

The protest highlighted growing political tensions in Punjab and reinforced the BJP’s strategy of engaging directly with women voters. Supporters said the fight will continue across districts if the government fails to take immediate action.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government is committed to completing stalled housing projects and handing them over to beneficiaries quickly.

During the previous TDP rule, more than three lakh houses were started, and many reached advanced construction stages. The current administration is now pushing to finish the remaining units without delay. Officials are monitoring progress closely under the supervision of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Narayana.

The government is constructing houses in 300, 365 and 430 square-foot categories. All essential amenities are being provided as part of the project. The administration has cleared ₹140 crore in pending dues to restart works that had stalled during the earlier regime. This move has helped regain momentum in several housing clusters.

Chief Minister Naidu announced a target of constructing 17 lakh houses within the next three years. Families with their own land will also receive financial assistance to build homes. The government says it wants to ensure that homeownership becomes a reality for every eligible poor and middle-class family in the state.

Earlier, the scheme covered only unemployed youths with intermediate-level qualifications. Now, the state government has expanded it to graduates from arts, science, and commerce. Bihar to provide ₹1,000 assistance aims to help young people manage expenses while preparing for jobs or skill training.

Nitish Kumar, in a post on X, said creating jobs and empowering youth has been his government’s top priority since 2005. He linked the announcement to the “seven resolves programme,” which focuses on employment, education, and youth development.

The Chief Minister said the scheme will give graduates financial relief as they search for opportunities. He assured that Bihar’s policies will continue to focus on youth empowerment and inclusive development.

With elections approaching, the move highlights Nitish Kumar’s strategy to connect with young voters. He emphasized that the government remains committed to bridging the gap between education and employment in the state.

The scheme, which was announced earlier, will provide a one-time financial aid of ₹15,000 to eligible drivers. As per the guidelines, interested drivers can apply for this assistance starting today.

Eligible drivers must submit their applications through a specially released form available at their local village or ward secretariats. The last date to submit applications is set for September 19. All necessary details must be filled in the form to ensure the smooth processing of the request.

Once the selection process is completed, the government plans to directly transfer the ₹15,000 assistance to the bank accounts of the approved drivers. The funds will be deposited into the selected drivers’ accounts on October 1. This initiative is aimed at providing relief to the drivers who have been significantly impacted by the ongoing economic challenges.

This scheme is a part of the state government’s broader effort to support various communities and provide financial aid to those in need. The implementation of this scheme is expected to benefit thousands of drivers across the state.
