Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a bold prediction ahead of the state assembly elections. His statement came before Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s active entry into the Assam campaign. Sarma claimed the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance could secure 103 of the 126 assembly seats.

Speaking at a public programme in Dimoria, Kamrup Metropolitan district, Sarma said the alliance’s prospects have improved significantly. He explained that the NDA earlier expected to win around 90 seats. He added that constituency delimitation increased the potential tally by 13 to 15 seats.

The BJP is contesting the elections with three regional allies. These include the Asom Gana Parishad, United People’s Party Liberal, and Bodoland People’s Front. Formal seat-sharing discussions among NDA partners are still ongoing.

Congress has stepped up its campaign by appointing Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as chairperson of the Assam screening committee. She will oversee candidate selection, alliance decisions, and election strategy. Her appointment has raised political stakes in the state.

Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi said the party will contest 100 seats. He said remaining seats will go to allies like Raijor Dal and Assam Jatiya Parishad. He also confirmed AIUDF will stay out of the opposition alliance. Major contest.

Priyanka Gandhi has been handed a major responsibility in Assam ahead of the state assembly elections. She will chair the Congress screening committee, managing seat allocation, alliances with regional parties, and election campaigning. Several party leaders have previously suggested promoting her over Rahul Gandhi, making this a significant move.

This year, assembly elections will be held in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Congress has announced separate screening committees for all five states, each led by a chairperson. Assam has received special attention as Priyanka takes the helm.

According to reports, this marks the first time a member of the Gandhi family leads a state screening committee. Priyanka will decide which candidates get tickets and which alliances the party forms in Assam. She is supported in the committee by close MPs Imran Masood and Saptagiri Ulaka. Notably, Imran Masood recently called Priyanka a suitable candidate for Prime Minister, while some party leaders have suggested promoting her over Rahul Gandhi.

Assam Congress faces the challenge of returning to power after a decade in opposition, with Himanta Biswa Sarma leading the BJP government. Priyanka’s performance here will be closely watched, especially after Congress won only two seats in the last Uttar Pradesh elections under her leadership.

A month after a poor showing in the Bihar Assembly elections, fresh political buzz has emerged around the Prashant Kishor–Priyanka Gandhi meeting. Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishor recently met Congress leader and MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi.

Sources say the Prashant Kishor–Priyanka Gandhi meeting took place last week at Sonia Gandhi’s residence, 10 Janpath. The two leaders reportedly spoke for nearly an hour.

Both parties have played down the importance of the meeting. When asked about it in Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi reacted lightly and asked whether this was “also news.” Still, political circles are reading deeper signals into the interaction.

The meeting matters because Prashant Kishor once shared a close working relationship with the Congress. After leaving the JD(U) in 2021, he joined the Congress and drafted a revival plan ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Differences over authority later led to a bitter split.

Since then, Kishor has openly criticised the Congress. His Jan Suraj Party also faced a crushing defeat in Bihar, failing to win a single seat, with most candidates losing their deposits.

Congress too struggled in Bihar, winning only six seats out of 61 contested. Against this backdrop, the Prashant Kishor–Priyanka Gandhi meeting has fuelled talk of a possible political reset, even as both sides remain silent.

TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Telangana Rising Global Summit brought strong investment flows to the state. He added that the event showcased Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s clear vision for Telangana. While speaking at the CLP office, he criticised Harish Rao and asked how many investments the BRS government secured in ten years. He said the summit’s success unsettled the former finance minister.

Goud announced that corporation chairpersons and board positions would be filled before the end of the month. He also mentioned that new PCC working presidents and campaign committees would be appointed soon. When asked about contesting from Nizamabad, he replied that the decision belonged to the party high command. He said he felt satisfied with his current PCC responsibilities.

He urged Harish Rao to clearly state the government’s position on employees’ concerns. According to him, several sectors suffered damage under a decade of BRS rule. He stated that Kavitha’s criticism emerged due to financial discrepancies being exposed. Goud also demanded an inquiry into her remarks regarding alleged irregularities.

The TPCC chief said Telangana experienced faster development under the Congress government. National leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge congratulated the state for hosting the summit.

The Bihar Election Battle 2025 has turned intense in the Bachhwara Assembly seat of Begusarai district. The Congress and CPI-ML, both part of the Grand Alliance, are facing each other directly. This clash has raised doubts about the unity of the alliance. Priyanka Gandhi’s rallies in Bachhwara and Beldaur aim to calm internal tensions and boost her party’s strength.

There is no friendly fight here — it’s a real political contest. Congress candidate Shiv Prakash Garibdas accuses CPI’s Awadhesh Rai of acting as BJP’s B-team, while Rai claims Congress is being rigid and overconfident. Historically, the Bachhwara seat has seen power alternate between Congress and CPI since 1952, with no party winning twice in a row.

People are watching whether Priyanka Gandhi’s campaign can change the course of this Bihar Election Battle 2025. Her presence adds energy and media attention to an already heated contest.

In Bihar, tensions within the Grand Alliance have intensified as the CPI(M) accused a Congress candidate of being a BJP agent. The controversy began in Bachhwara, where CPI(M) leader Ramnaresh Pandey claimed that Congress nominee Garib Das secretly helped the BJP in both 2020 and 2024 elections. He alleged that Das contested as an independent earlier, indirectly benefiting the BJP, and that his family has long cooperated with the saffron party.

The CPI(M) believes that despite its victory in Bachhwara under the Grand Alliance, the Congress fielded Garib Das again, ignoring past actions. Reports also suggest meetings between Das and BJP leaders, strengthening suspicions. CPI(M) stated that this “friendly fight” within the alliance is now an open political clash.

The RJD and Congress alliance dates back to 2005, but past rebellions have echoed today’s discord. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will soon address rallies in Bachhwara, Begusarai, and Khagaria. Her campaign visit marks her first rally in this election season, set against growing friction among Grand Alliance partners in Bihar.
